How a membership unlocks a creator's work
Sovereign Creator exists so a creator can take their audience off YouTube and off any platform that rations what they may say: fans pay one set price, the creator keeps more, and the connection is direct. The part that is easy to get wrong is the access decision, so this page demonstrates it over the rows below — may this viewer watch it, may the platform offer it here and now, has this viewer confirmed they are old enough for it, and how many streams does the account hold. Change the simulated viewer and watch the work lock and unlock.
Most rows are a creator's own work, where membership is the only question. A few stand in for pre-curated or licensed media — work a creator carries but did not make — which is why rights and licence labels appear on them. That case is supported, and it is not what the platform is for. Rights values are placeholders, not clearance records.
Simulated viewer
These controls change local state in this page only. Nothing is submitted anywhere, and the viewer names come from the repository's own seeded demonstration accounts.
The work
—
This is not a screenshot and it is not the product: it is a static page in your browser, recomputing the repository's decision rules from the controls above over illustrative seeded metadata. Posters are drawn placeholders — the real build serves artwork from its own storage through the entitlement gate, and this page requests nothing.
Withheld by availability
This is the pre-curated case: work a creator carries but did not make, and may not be able to offer here and now. It is removed from the grid rather than greyed out, and its artwork, stream and captions return the same not-found as a missing entry. The operator sees what is being carried and why; a viewer does not.
The four questions, and what each refusal looks like
Entitlement
Membership, tier rank and draft state. Refused with 404.
Decided by a pure function that receives everything it needs, so every branch is unit-testable and no caller can consult a second source of truth mid-decision.
Availability
Rights status, licence term, scheduling window and territory — the pre-curated case. Refused with 404.
This gate exists for work a creator carries but did not make. It is separate from entitlement on purpose: a licence expiry and a lapsed membership are different incidents and must not produce the same denial.
Age
R is the platform's ceiling, so an R-rated entry needs an 18+ confirmation. Refused with 404.
The table stores a verdict and a timestamp and has nowhere to put a name, a date of birth or a document number. It is a self-declaration, not statutory age verification, and the page says so.
Concurrency
Two streams per account by default. Refused with 409.
The one deliberate exception to the uniform not-found: it is a condition the viewer can fix, so it is explained instead of hidden behind a 404.
